Jack Black in Cannes for Kung Fu PandaJack Black may look a bit fat to be a kung fu warrior, but he matches the shape of Po, the panda of the story... You may also see him honing his martial-art skills in Tropic Thunder this Summer.

Kung Fu Panda - Kung Fu Fighting

by Cee-Lo and Jack Black

The soundtrack of Kung Fu Panda is a cover of the 1974 hit Kung Fu Fighting by Carl Douglas. Jack Black and Cee-Lo have teamed up for the cover.

"It was inspiring and an honor to have the opportunity to reintroduce the record to a brand new audience, sprinkled with a little of me on top," Cee-Lo said.

The full soundtrack of Kung Fu Panda should be available starting May 27, with additional score from Hans Zimmer and John Powell.

Here below you may listen to the original Kung Fu Fighting song recorded by Carl Douglas in 1974:

Kung Fu Panda Behind The Scenes Featurette

Kung Fu Panda is an upcoming Dreamworks movie. The story takes place in Ancient China.
Facing the threat of an evil leopard who wants to invade the peaceful valley he's living in with his friends, a panda (Jack Black) has to learn the art of kung fu with Master Monkey (Jackie Chan).

Watch a behind-the-scenes featurette of Kung Fu Panda here below:

I may not wait for this movie as much as I'm waiting for Wall-E by Pixar, but I'll have to go watch it: it looks good indeed!

Competition, even in the world of cinema, is something praiseworthy: players are pushed to continually improve themselves: may Pixar and Dreamworks rivalise even more to bring us great movies!

Kung Fu Panda First Promo Teaser

Kung Fu Panda is a CG animation movie. It should be released in June 2008.
The movie takes place in Ancient China. A Panda (Jack Black) tries to become a Kung Fu warrior with the help of Monkey master (Jackie Chan) in order to fight against an evil Leopard warrior who wants to bring desolation to the valley of peace.

Here the trailer:

Here the plot:
"Kung Fu Panda features Jack Black as Po the Panda, a lowly waiter in a noodle restaurant, who is a kung fu fanatic but whose shape doesn't exactly lend itself to kung fu fighting. In fact, Po's defining characteristic appears to be that he is the laziest of all the animals in ancient China. That's a problem because powerful enemies are at the gates, and all hopes have been pinned on a prophesy naming Po as the "Chosen One" to save the day. A group of martial arts masters are going to need a black belt in patience if they are going to turn this slacker panda into a kung fu fighter before it's too late." (Source: Wikipedia)

Dreamworks isn't as good as Pixar, but, anyway, this movie will probably be entertaining.

Jack Black is making the voice of the Panda and Jackie Chan is making the voice of the kung fu master. I think those two had a good time together working on this movie: it must have been a competition of jokes!
